Braided beauty

Long hair and braids...

Memories of innocence,

of long gone carefree days

Memories of yesteryear when I was a princess...

and my crown were the flowers in the garden.

Days when life was a bridge I longed to cross

and the wind, jealous of my joy, would untie those silk ribbons

and my hair escaped their braided prison making me feel adventurous and free.

I did cross that bridge and in the haste my braids were lost,

but I found them again when my daughter was born.

  2. What a beautiful post...I love how you lost them..and found them again in your daughter! What a heart-warming post! I still wear braids..i guess that means I never grew up..ha ha...but i also love taking them and out.. my hair free and flowing..romantic ripples and curls.....nothing beats that powerful freedom!

  3. This is indeed a beautiful post. It brought back so many memories to me, of my childhood braids and those on my own (now grown) daughters too. How many precious hours did i spend plaiting their hair and i never for a moment thought that i would be sat here in the future wishing i could do it again, just once. thank you for the memories

  4. Jeanne, thank you. xx

Kiki, I don't know why but I'm not surprised to hear you still wear them. I think it's great! xx

Ruthie, you are right, those were precious hours and we are very lucky indeed to have enjoyed them xx

Albert Schweitzer said "In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit" I thank you all!
