In a Winter garden

Snow started falling early this morning,
tiny, almost invisible specks at first,
which rapidly gained speed and weight.

A few hours later, here it is:
that magnificent silence.
I can't even attempt to describe how much I love it!

Standing on the snow I listen...
my heartbeat, my muffled, misty breath,
the crunch of snowflakes underneath my boots...

Father Winter is here...
He's taking a nap in my garden....

  2. Beautiful words. I used to love standing in my garden as the snow fell...so quiet and serene. Like another world here in the city. Alas, I no longer have my magical garden.

  8. I am so glad you are enjoying the snow Alina. I am afraid since we have had it so long that I get a bit tainted and can not see the beauty in it anymore. Thank you for reminding me sweet friend!

  9. Those moments of blissful quiet are so very soothing to the soul ... Those fluffy, delicate flakes, like kisses from the heavens, make those moments even more magical! While I have never been fond of the cold, I have come to appreciate winter's icy breath. Each season brings to us its own precious gift ... sometimes, we just have to bundle up to savor them! :))

How wonderful that you found time to step into the days bliss ... May you find many more of these moments to savor ...

  10. How magical. How sweetly you favor Father Winter. I love my warmth, but do not get to see such a sight as a Snow Garden built by the gentle, kind caress of Father Winter. Thank you for sharing this moment. Peace. Brianne
