Rainy Thursday

There is something special about rainy days. One walks about the house lulled by the sound of raindrops softly falling on the windows and roof. A perfect soundtrack for a morning meditation.

But...meditating is tricky. There you are, eyes closed, sitting perfectly still, trying to free the mind from anything mundane, breathing gets slower, you float away, your soul travels to a distant shore and you arrive at the Rithang Monastery when suddenly, leaping out of nowhere, uninvited thoughts arrive.  Loud-mouthed ruffians clad in black leather pants...frightful! The lovely vision shatters and you rush about trying to pick up and hold on to the remaining pieces...sigh...

Those horrid ruffians refuse to go away, so for now I'll just stand by the window and listen to the rain...

Wishing you all a "ruffian free" day :0)

Love and light...

  1. When that happens to me I pretend I have a "remote control" like you have for the TV. I point it at them and turn their volume down, so I can ignore them and carry on.

  2. never mind Alina..... the rain is soothing, just blank out the rest. I find that I can 'zone out' these days something I've never been able to do, so I just escape there from time to time... I love it. hugs xxx

  3. Dearest Alina,
Indeed, the pittet-patter of raindrops falling is most relaxing. We have so much rainfall this spring, perhaps that is why I am so tired these days. Too much meditation! :O Today, assailing winds have joined to foray of pelting drops. Where oh where has spring hailed off to???

Wishing you a blessed and blissful holiday weekend. Warmest of hugs, I send your way!

Albert Schweitzer said "In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit" I thank you all!
