It's a cloudy day

It’s a cloudy day. The sky is like a bride’s shimmering veil.
Translucent and soft, reflecting fragile beams of light.

What is it about cloudy days that makes one feel wistful and soft?
Cloudy days are a sweet parenthesis, a halt in the joyous wild ride.

Abundance and exuberance the sun brings
But only cloudy days have the power to make us stop by a window
And instead of looking out, look within.

  1. I know just what you mean. It's a muted day here, too. I was just listening to the birds singing in between the April showers and thinking of how close and amplified they sound when the clouds are like this. It's as if there is a different kind of indoors and the meadow looks as comforting and inviting as a cozy room that's promising shelter and a place to reflect.

If I go on about how much I love this post, I'll ruin it. I DO want to say, however, that your last post is still reverberating inside of me.

    Lovely day, Alina! Katy xo

  4. Oh Katy, you could NEVER ruin anything! Always a breath of fresh air! Glad to hear you are still "reverbarating" :0) XX

Kath, you're right, clouds are the perfect backdrop for "drama" xx

Kiki, just came back from visiting you and enjoying all the photos, which were stunning, as usual xx

  5. We had rain today. Then it snowed! (just little flurries) Then the sun came out and everything was CRISP and clear and GORGEOUS! I would still have called it "mostly cloudy", though. There was no watery sunshine, today (perhaps that's what kind of day you had - oh, how I LOVE those kind of quiet days!!!) Any kind of cloudy works for me, as long as it doesn't last 40 days and 40 nights - if you know what I mean. Sunniness becomes mundane and gauche without clouds.

The image of this beautiful lady in this photograph is precious - silver and diamonds, I mean! Your words were PERFECT and matched my day wonderfully! I didn't even want to say this before because I just wanted to be quiet. =] Something about all of this takes me back to little Katy and my Nana - VAAARY happy!

    Love, Me xo

Albert Schweitzer said "In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit" I thank you all!
